Our Story
Belly Fish was created by two stay-at-home moms in Chico, California. Erica Alvistur and Julie Weaver became friends after attending a Bittie Baby & Me class through Enloe Hospital shortly after delivering their first babies. They often talked about the struggles they had trying to breastfeed while maintaining their on-the-go lifestyles.
They were unable to find a good looking, compact travel nursing pillow that worked for their lifestyles. This was the seed for the Belly Fish idea. Belly Fish is a compact, portable breastfeeding pillow with attached nursing covers. The design allows for easy travel and storage so moms can nurse discreetly anywhere, anytime.
"Like many new moms, we absolutely loved our nursing pillow. We carried it from room-to-room as we nursed, and even took it with us when we visited friends and family. As much as we enjoyed our nursing pillow, it was not easy to travel with. Its large and bulky shape was just not meant for the everyday errands and outings. With that thought in mind, we developed our first prototype. We dedicated countless hours of hard work to ensure our product met the high standards, that we as moms demand. And just in case you are wondering, the Belly Fish is proudly made in the USA.
This journey has been a dream for us and we're amazed everyday that a simple idea has led us to a growing and thriving corporation. We’re especially thankful to our husbands for their continued love and support and to our children for all that they have inspired us to do!
